U-Haul is offering a unique, paid internship opportunity for a qualified mass communications, public relations or journalism student in its External Communications Department. The manager of media and public relations and other interns will work with you as you produce daily press releases that will be sent to media outlets and posted on; create content for our storytelling and news website; conduct media outreach efforts; assist our neighborhood dealership network; hone your interviewing and communication skills; and much more If you're looking to get paid while boosting your résumé and building a portfolio, this is the internship position for you!

Other hands-on opportunities may include aiding the community through our many local and national charitable partners; assisting with special projects to benefit some of the more than 21,000 U-Haul locations across the U.S. and Canada; planning for events and conferences; coordinating with U-Haul Internal Communications, Social Media and many other departments.

Prior experience in reporting, blogging, publishing, public and/or media outreach and a strong grasp of the AP stylebook are encouraged. Being bilingual in French or Spanish is a bonus but is not required for consideration. If you can write well, you should apply!

  • Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled student in junior or senior year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in mass communications, public relations, journalism or related field
  • Maintaining 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Working knowledge of reporting, online researching, interviewing, writing and AP stylebook; experience in effectively crafting and communicating ideas internally and externally
