Description:
    U-Haul International, Inc. seeks a highly motivated and organized Corporate Paralegal to join its Legal Department. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the corporate subsidiary maintenance program, which involves performing online and paper filings with governmental authorities throughout the US and Canada to ensure that our numerous subsidiary entities remain qualified to do business, in good standing and legal existence.
    Responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring compliance with specified state corporate laws and regulations
  • Filing of annual reports
  • Establishing and adhering to corporate compliance calendars
  • Ensuring proper functioning of the subsidiary compliance program in order to deliver reliability of information, transparency and efficiency
  • Special corporate projects regularly, on an as-needed basis
    The ideal candidate:
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability and willingness to learn new software used in the office.
  • Must be able to interact with employees in a team-based environment and work well independently.
  • Must have the intelligence and creativity to thoughtfully identify problems and create realistic and workable solutions.
  • The candidate must be not only detail-focused and precise, but also able to comprehend the 'big picture' and overall concepts.
Requirements:
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products with a focus on Excel and Word
  • Must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience in a legal setting, preferably with prior Corporate Law experience.
Education/Training:
  • Graduate of an accredited paralegal institution with a certificate or Associates Degree, and/or prior experience in corporate law.
