    The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of data and data structures within the Financial Analysis database and will be responsible for aggregating and providing this data to other Financial Analysis team members via custom queries and views within SQL Server. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will create data extracts for use in other applications including analysis tools and ad hoc/analysis requests. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for the completion of projects as assigned. These projects will require advanced proficiency in general finance theory (see “Knowledge Required” section), as well as a working knowledge of statistical and/or other quantitative methods.
    This position reports to the Manager of Financial Analysis and will have direct visibility to AMERCO’s Chief Financial Officer.
    Knowledge Required:
    The ideal candidate will be proficient (conversational and applicational) in general finance concepts including, but not limited to:
  • Expected return on equity (Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM))
  • Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)
  • Discounted Cash Flow Analysis (DCF Analysis)
  • Familiarity with the three primary financial statements
    Minimum Education and/or Experience:
    The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
  • 3 years’ professional experience in financial planning and analysis in the public or private sectors
  • A Master’s degree may substitute for the minimum experience requirements
    Specialized Training, Certifications, and/or Special Requirements:
    The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Expert proficiency using SQL Server and SAP
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience performing analysis using R, Python, and/or VBA (strongly preferred)
  • A professional designation e.g. CFA, FP&A, CTP, CMA (preferred)
