Description:
The Sales & Marketing Manager for the Hitch Program is responsible for developing and institutionalizing U-Haul Hitches and Towing Accessory brand assets and enforcing established standards. The Hitch program is treated like a business within a company, and you are the small business owner. The number of ways consumers receive marketing messages is increasing and the program manager’s role is becoming more complex. We are looking for a decisive fast thinking individual with excellent communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills. An MBA with a specialization in Marketing from a university or extensive U-Haul Center and MCO experience are helpful.

  • Requirements:
    Plan, develop and direct marketing efforts for moving supplies or products in our store, at a dealership, and on the web.
  • Create strategies to take advantage of market opportunities
  • Conceptualize strategic initiatives and implement details of a campaign
  • Execute strategies with internal cross-functional teams
  • Manage marketing partners such as the digital marketing department, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Supervise brand content
  • Manage access to brand assets
  • Maintain brand standards and usage guidelines
  • Assist integration of campaigns to achieve and maintain brand consistency
  • Track consumer and market insights by reviewing metrics such as sales volume, market share, profit projections, pricing and distribution, and by conducting consumer research
  • Analyze sales data to update a brand or category portfolio, determine new products and delete underperforming products
  • Work closely with departments such as Art Department, and Purchasing, on package and product as it relates to branding
  • Write reports, specifications and creative briefs
  • Assess and provide competitive environment analysis
  • Measure and evaluate pricing strategies internally and competitively

        The fast-paced deadline-driven work environment may also call for travel to Centers, Dealers, tradeshows or production facilities.  
  • Education/Training:
  • While a bachelor’s degree and marketing experience is sufficient, an MBA is additive. Self-education is a must. Coursework typically includes strategic marketing, consumer behavior strategies and advanced market research. Years spent in Center or Marketing Company management are very helpful.
